TuTTie’s Place is always grateful for all donations.   As a nonprofit 501(c) (3) Maryland corporation, all donations are tax deductible.  Please use this wish list as a guide for giving during 2008.  Call 410-277-9170 to make arrangements for pick-up or delivery.

Furnishings, furniture, and household donations for Chelsea II.  We are currently building and plan to open our fifth home during the 4^th quarter of 2008.  We must stock and furnish a household for 16 young people, an education and conference center, outside recreation area, peace garden and labyrinth.  We are starting to collect and store the items now. 

      Furniture   (Residential furniture or commercial furniture)

Building Blocks Activities Program – provides self-development, academic enrichment, and physical fitness activities during after-school, weekend, and school vacation days.  Many of the activities have to be funded outside of the foster care system, but we see them as critical to successful youth development.

• Tutoring and homework assistance - school supplies, binders, loose leaf paper, pens
• Monthly book reports – age-appropriate books teens like to read
• Physical activities - basketballs, footballs, softballs, bats and gloves
• Music lessons and drummers’ community performances - African drums, seats, bags, & costumes
• Trips and outings - tickets to movies, zoos, aquariums, sporting events, sail boating, other area attractions & events
• Memberships for YMCA, Six Flags, & area swimming pools
• Funds to pay for professionals to teach and/or facilitate activities – after-school tutoring and homework assistance, computer skills lessons, bowling league, art classes, African drumming lessons

Radio Program, now in its 8^th year of broadcasting – “Talkin’ TuTTies”, our weekly one-hour talk radio program Wednesdays, WOLB 1010AM 4:00pm-5:00pm.

• Funding through donations and sponsorships to underwrite and offset the costs of airtime.

Gift Certificates for TuTTie’s Place Residents to Celebrate Milestones – birthdays, accomplishments, graduations, good grades, holidays

• Discount stores, electronic stores, local malls, etc.

• Sponsors – businesses, organizations, and individuals to underwrite and offset the costs of the gymnasium rental, trophies, t-shirts, photographer, and other event expenses.

Mentoring Opportunities:

Consider becoming a mentor.  If you are not ready for one-on-one, we have group activities such as bowling, sail boating, swimming, playing sports at the YMCA, tutoring, playing computer games, and the basketball tournament.
