TuTTie’s Place is a non-profit 501(c) (3) licensed by the state of Maryland to provide foster care services to 26 boys, aged 8-18.
TuTTie's Place operates a community-based group foster care model working with the youth in familiar settings helping them to learn skills for making choices amid the environment in which they grew up and to which they will return.
In addition to providing a nurturing, family-like environment for their residential, medical, therapeutic, and educational needs, we provide a variety of academic, artistic, musical, and recreational activities for their total growth in our Building Blocks Activities Program.
We partcipate as active partners in our children's schools, provide oportunities for community service, celebrate birthdays and other milestones. We encourage pets and currently have three birds and one iquana!
TuT's, Inc., d/b/a TuTTie's Place was founded in Maryland on May 17, 1996.
The idea for TuTTie's Place grew from the realization of the Founder, Brenda Boyd, that there were and still remain, insufficient services available in the community to maintain a wholesome family environment for children in the foster care system.
TuTTie’s Place commenced residential foster care operations in January, 1998 with five adolescent children in the first house, gradually increasing the number of boys in our care to 26 living in four houses.
TuTTie's Place was established and named in memory of Ms. Boyd's daughter, Talia Anais Boyd, who was nicknamed "TuTTie".
